Triumph has announced it is toasting a new partnership with premium watchmakers Breitling with the launch of an exclusive Triumph Speed Twin Breitling, a new special edition limited to just 270 units.
Combining the precision and quality of the Breitling Top Time watch and the classic Triumph Speed Twin, the new limited edition represents the shared ambition of ‘peerless heritage and engineering excellence’ between the iconic British manufacturer and the Swiss watchmaker.
The Triumph Speed Twin Breitling Limited Edition is distinguished by a distinctive new paint scheme designed to incorporate a polychromatic blue colour matched to the original 1951 Triumph Thunderbird, plus hand painted coach line detailing.
Those with a penchant for cinema may recognise the colour from the Triumph Thunderbird 6T immortalised by Marlon Brando in the 1953 film ‘The Wild One’. Triumph says it has matched the colourway using a mint condition colour chip of the original Thunderbird, which it goes on to enhance with a jet-black side panel and headlamp bowl.
The look is finished by premium touches as bespoke instrument faces inspired by the Top Time watch, unique perforated black leather seat with stitched detailing and branded billet machine engine detailing. Indeed, the Top Time chronograph itself is a throwback from the 1970s, aimed at ‘sporty in-crowd’ men and women, attracted by its bold proportions.
Other features include a racing-themed calfskin leather strap that lets the hero dial shine with Breitling and Triumph logos sitting subtly at 12 and 6 o’clock.
In addition to the upgrades associated with the latest generation Triumph Speed Twin launched in 2021, the Breitling edition will also come with fully adjustable Öhlins piggy-back twin rear suspension with unique gloss black springs.
Under the skin, the Triumph Speed Twin Breitling retains the same 1200cc High Power Bonneville parallel twin-cylinder engine as the standard model, producing 98.6bhp at 7,250rpm and 112Nm of torque at 4,250rpm.
