As we fly into 2019 and yet another bumper year of new machinery to ogle in the dealerships, at shows and on certain motorcycling websites, here’s your guide to the new wallet-twitching metal available in the new year, in alphabetical order by manufacturer including prices where known:
Ariel

Brough Superior

790 Adventure (and R) – All-new adventure bike based on the 799cc parallel twin motor from the Duke 790. Both bikes have big fuel tanks, long travel suspension and full electronics packages including cornering ABS. They also both have 21in front wheels for proper off-road capability. 690 SMC R – uprated road-legal supermoto now has 7bhp more and smoother power delivery, a slightly bigger fuel tank, cornering ABS and traction control plus a quickshifter. There’s also a restricted A2-licence version available. Read more here

Brutale 1000 Serie Oro – 205bhp super naked. Engine is virtually all-new and has full electronics package. The Oro is a limited edition (300 bikes at €42,000) but others will be launched later using this engine in a lower-spec package. Read the preview here

GSX-S750 (A2 licence version) – Same as the current GSX-S750 but restricted to 45bhp
Triumph
Street Twin – uprated 900cc engine makes extra 10bhp, rider modes and enhanced suspension and brakes. From £8100. Read the review here

Scrambler 1200 – two all-new models (XC is the more road-focused, lower spec bike, XE is higher spec and off-road focussed) with retuned engine, long travel suspension (even longer on the XE model) and new frame.
