As we fly into 2019 and yet another bumper year of new machinery to ogle in the dealerships, at shows and on certain motorcycling websites, here’s your guide to the new wallet-twitching metal available in the new year, in alphabetical order by manufacturer including prices where known:

Ariel

• Ace of Diamonds –Limited to just 10, powered by a 1237cc Honda V4, with 173bhp, costs £19,982. Read more here

Brough Superior

• Anniversary – Limited edition (only 100 will be built) celebrating 100 years of Brough. Cosmetically different, but mechanically similar. €100,000 (£87,175) is the price tag. Read more here

• CBR650R – Fully-faired sporty version of CB650R. Not a proper supersports track bike like the old CBR600RR, more of a road-sports machine. Indian

KTM

• 1290 Super Duke GT – face lift, up and down quickshifter and 3bhp increase. Est. £16,500. Read more here

• 790 Adventure (and R) – All-new adventure bike based on the 799cc parallel twin motor from the Duke 790. Both bikes have big fuel tanks, long travel suspension and full electronics packages including cornering ABS. They also both have 21in front wheels for proper off-road capability. • 690 SMC R – uprated road-legal supermoto now has 7bhp more and smoother power delivery, a slightly bigger fuel tank, cornering ABS and traction control plus a quickshifter. There’s also a restricted A2-licence version available. Read more here

Moto Guzzi

MV Agusta

• Brutale 1000 Serie Oro – 205bhp super naked. Engine is virtually all-new and has full electronics package. The Oro is a limited edition (300 bikes at €42,000) but others will be launched later using this engine in a lower-spec package. Read the preview here

• Dragster 800 RR America – limited edition dragster 800RR in fancy paint scheme that mimics the 1970s MV America model. Approximately €18,900. Read the preview here

Norton

• Atlas Nomad – scrambler-themed, 650cc twin cylinder making 84bhp. £9,995

• Atlas Ranger – as above but with longer travel suspension, headlight protector, handlebar brace, sump guard, higher mudguard and a small screen. £11,995

Royal Enfield

• Interceptor 650 – all new twin-cylinder engine. 47bhp, roadster chassis, very good value at £5500. Read the review here

Piaggio

• MP3 300 hpe – new engine makes 3bhp more and more torque too. Traction control is standard. Base model has taller screen, while ‘Sport’ model has shorter screen and Bluetooth connectivity. Read more here

• Vespa GTS – also gets the new 300cc engine. Fiver variants, all get LED lighting and more comfy seat. Supertech version has TFT screen and app-based turn-by-turn in-dash navigation. Read more here

Suzuki

• Katana – New model, based on the current GSX-S1000, but substantially restyled. “premium pricing” (TBA). Watch the preview video here

• GSX-R1000 (and GSX-R1000R) - Tweaks on current model, quickshifter now standard

• GSX-S750 (A2 licence version) – Same as the current GSX-S750 but restricted to 45bhp

Triumph

• Street Twin – uprated 900cc engine makes extra 10bhp, rider modes and enhanced suspension and brakes. From £8100. Read the review here

• Street Scrambler – as above but with longer travel suspension, taller seat height and larger front wheel. From £9300. Read the review here

• Speed Twin – new roadster using same 1200cc engine from the Thruxton/Bobber plus top spec forks, brakes, tyres. 10kg lighter than Thruxton. From £10,500. Preview of the new bike is here

• Scrambler 1200 – two all-new models (XC is the more road-focused, lower spec bike, XE is higher spec and off-road focussed) with retuned engine, long travel suspension (even longer on the XE model) and new frame.
